116812 on 101010

On 10.10.10, a total of 116,812 runners crossed the finish line of which could be the world's biggest fun-run! And yes, we (me, husband and a group of friends) were part of it! But more than setting a world-record, the race was in support of the rehabilitaiton of the Pasig River- a very noble cause which we all support.

It was not the best time for me, and I apologize to my husband for dragging his time too. He insisted that we run together since we both were out of practice prior to the race. An idea which we would realize was excellent as we neared the finish line and saw the massive crowd! It would have been difficult to search for each other in that crowd, especially that we do not run with phones!

Bad time or not, it was for an advocacy so important to me personally. And I am proud. I hope that the seven-year rehabilation plan of the Pasig River comes about and spills over some attention to the other rivers in our country which need cleaning-up too.

Congratulations to all finishers and organizers! Now, real work begins. Let us all do our share.
